Bark in the Park
Vendor applications open now through March 1!
Auburn Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the CARE Humane Society, will be hosting Bark in the Park, an event dedicated to promoting responsible dog ownership. Taking place at Kiesel Park on Saturday, March 16th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., this community event is open to all dog owners and their beloved pets.
Vendors are invited to sell and promote their products and services designed specifically for dog owners. Vendors will be required to pay a $15 vendor fee.
Join us for a day filled with enjoyable activities and entertainment, including live music and a variety of food trucks. Immerse yourself in educational opportunities by visiting informative booths, shop with local pet vendors, and participate in exciting door prize giveaways throughout the morning. Additionally, if you are looking to add a furry friend to your family, there will be rescue dogs available for adoption.

Registration for Spring Programs End This Week
Registration for Auburn Parks and Recreation spring programs end this week on Thurs., Feb. 29. Registration is online only. Register for Art classes, Adults 50+ (programs and field trips), fitness classes, ceramics, men’s softball, Co-ed kickball and soccer. Youth Track registration ends on Thurs., Feb. 29. Registration for Easter Events Now Open
Breakfast with the Bunny
Hop on over to our 3rd Annual Breakfast with the Bunny! The event will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 8 – 11 a.m. at Kiesel Park. The buffet-style breakfast is $10 per person and activities will include a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny, balloon animals, face painting, a petting zoo and egg hunt! This can’t-miss event is sure to produce some cherished family memories and adorable photo opportunities. If there is inclement weather on the day of the event, it will be moved to an indoor location. Tickets are on sale at auburnalabama.org/parks/register. No walk-ups will be accepted on the day of the event. $10 per person.
44th Annual Easter Egg Hunt – NEW LOCATION!
Join Auburn Parks and Recreation Saturday, March 30th for the 44th Annual Easter Egg Hunt! This year’s egg hunt will be held at Duck Samford Park Lower Baseball Fields. The festivities will begin at 9 a.m. There will be four hunting fields available for the following age groups: 0-3, 4-6, 7-8 & 9-10 years of age. Ten grand prizes will be awarded in each group and the Easter Bunny will be available for photos before and after the Egg Hunt. Attendees can also enjoy musical entertainment, free balloons, face painting and inflatables beginning at 9 a.m. Please remember to arrive early to check-in and find your child’s correct age group. The first age group will begin at 10:30 a.m. sharp! Egg Hunt Start times will be staggered by age group. Registration is open now for Auburn residents. Anyone outside of Auburn can begin registering Monday, March 18 if space is still available. Registration will take place at auburnalabama.org/parks/register. $5 per child for Auburn residents. $10 per child for non-residents. Every participant must be pre-registered and there will be no registration taken day of event!

Auburn CityFest 2024 Now Accepting Vendor Applications
The Auburn CityFest Committee is currently accepting applications for Arts & Crafts and Nonprofit vendors for Auburn CityFest 2024. This year’s theme is Space Adventure and will be held Saturday, April 27, at Kiesel Park from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Auburn CityFest is Auburn’s largest FREE outdoor festival and is a great opportunity for Arts & Crafts and Nonprofit vendors to gain more exposure in the Southeast. Nonprofit applications are due March 15, and the deadline to apply to be an Arts & Crafts vendor is April 5. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so vendors are encouraged to apply as soon as possible due to limited space. Applications may close before the deadline if space fills up.

Auburn CityFest Juried Art Show call for entries
The 19th annual Juried Art Show and Preview Reception is coming up soon, and we want to see your amazing work! Held in collaboration with Auburn CityFest 2024, the CityFest Juried Art Show and Preview Reception, sponsored by the Auburn Arts Association, will be held on Thursday, April 25th at the Historic Nunn-Winston House at Kiesel Park from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Artists ages 18 and older from Alabama or adjacent states may enter one work in their chosen medium. Application registration through auburnalabama.org/parks/register The deadline for entry forms and fees is Monday, April 22nd. The piece of work to be entered is also due by Monday, April 22nd.
Tails and Trails 3K walk/run with your dog registration open
Saturday, March 16th you can begin your day with a fun run through Kiesel Park with your favorite four-legged friend!
Join Active Auburn as we kick-off the 12th annual Bark in the Park with a 3K for you and your furriest friends. Grab your running shoes and your perfect running “pawtner” for a dog gone good time! The Tails and Trails 3K will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 16th, at Kiesel Park with Bark in the Park happening from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Online registration is going on now and will continue until Friday, March 15th.
This year, the Tails and Trails 3k is FREE to register, and t-shirts are optional. To be guaranteed a race shirt, participants must register by Thursday, February 29th.
A limited number of T-shirts will be available to purchase at the event.
The Tails and Trails 3K will NOT be timed. Prizes for the top 3 finishers overall and awards for the best dressed pups will be announced at 9:45 a.m. by the starting line. Make sure to stick around for Bark in the Park from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. and enjoy a variety of vendors promoting responsible dog ownership.

23rd Annual Juried Art Show call for entries
Artists currently residing or working in Lee County and the adjacent counties in eastern Alabama are invited to submit two recent works in the 23rd Annual Juried Art Exhibition sponsored by the Auburn Arts Association
Professional, student, and amateur artists 18 years of age and over are eligible to enter this competitive show. Works in any art medium except photography are due at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center by February 29 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and March 1 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The entry fee for this show is $35. City Market vendor applications now available
Are you a local grower or artisan wanting to share your products with those in the community? Apply to be a vendor at Auburn Parks and Recreations 2024 City Market! City Market vendor applications are now open. City Market will be held Saturdays from May 18th to August 31st at Town Creek Park, from 8 – 11am, with vendor set-up beginning at 7am.
Farmers, growers, and artists who are interested in participating in the City Market must fill out an online application or apply in person at the Harris Center (425 Perry Street).

Auburn Parks and Recreation accepting reservation request online
Auburn Parks and Recreation is now accepting facility and park reservation requests online. Those who wish to reserve a facility, athletic facility, or park pavilion can complete their application for request using their online account at auburnal.myrec.com.
Please make all requests at least two weeks prior to the desired reservation date in order to leave time for the approval process. Requests must be reviewed and approved by the facility director and department director. Once approved, payments can be made online using a credit card or by cash or check in-person at the Harris Center.
Frank Brown Recreation Center Membership Card Required to play racquetball and free basketball
Auburn Parks and Recreation now requires membership cards for free play basketball and racquetball.
Free play basketball and racquetball at Frank Brown Recreation Center are open free of charge to citizens who live, work or attend school within the city limits of Auburn, AL and to non-citizens for a one-time $30.00 fee. A membership must be acquired for free play basketball and racquetball regardless of age. Replacement cards will cost $30.00 regardless of residency. The membership card is non-transferable and can only be used by the card holder. You must be at least 13 years of age to participate in free play basketball and 15 years of age to participate in racquetball. Children ages 13-18 must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian at the time of application.
Memberships can be obtained at the Harris Center Mon. – Fri. 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. To view a membership application, including a list of acceptable proof of residency documents, visit auburnalabama.org/parks.
Frank Brown Recreation Center is open Mon. – Fri. 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sat. 8 a.m.-11 a.m. and Sun. 1-5 p.m. The Frank Brown Recreation Center is located at 235 Opelika Road. For more information call 334-501-2962.
