Active Auburn is a health and wellness campaign presented by Auburn Parks and Recreation and launched in August 2017.

Throughout 2024, Active Auburn will be host several recreation or fitness-centered pop-up events throughout Auburn. These activities will range from exercise classes and scavenger hunts in the parks to 5ks and walks.

Upcoming Active Auburn events are as follows:

Tails and Trails 3k

Join Active Auburn as we kick-off the 12th annual Bark in the Park Tails and Trails with a 3K for you and your furriest friends. Grab your running shoes and your running “pawtner” for a dog gone good time! The 4th annual Tails and Trails 3K will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 16th at Kiesel Park with Bark in the Park from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Online registration will begin Monday, January 1st.

This year Tails and Trails Fun is FREE TO REGISTER, and an optional t-shirt is $15.00

In order to be guaranteed your t-shirt size, participants must register by Thursday, February 29th. A limited number of t-shirts will be available to late registrants on a first-come, first serve basis at the run.

Did you know t-shirts from previous years may be purchased online? Find them under products on the parks and rec website!

The Tails and Trails 3K will NOT be timed. Prizes for the top 3 finishers overall and awards for the best dressed pups will be announced at 9:45 a.m. by the starting line. Make sure to stick around for Bark in the Park from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. and enjoy a variety of vendors promoting responsible dog ownership.
